19 September 2022 – As part of the European Mobility Week, two new projects co-financed with the support of the EEA Grants 2014–2021 were presented at a press conference. They bring innovative and effective measures to limit negative environmental impacts resulting from unsustainable forms of mobility and the long-term development of sustainable mobility to the Ljubljana urban region and beyond.
The SmartMOVE project (Smart solutions for sustainable mobility in Slovenia) addresses the management of sustainable mobility in locations with a lot of traffic in Ljubljana and its surroundings. A number of measures will be implemented during the project – five mobility plans will be prepared for selected institutions, a new method of transport to work will be tested on a pilot basis, the so-called dynamic group transportation developed by the company GoOpti, a certificate for sustainable mobility will be established, as well as the preparation of recommendations for the strategic directions of the competent authorities of the Republic of Slovenia in the field of sustainable mobility and proposals for upgrading the existing Integrated Transport Strategy of the Ljubljana Urban Region.
With the aim that all measures of sustainable mobility in the region will be connected as much as possible, and above all that the management of sustainable mobility will be improved in the long term, within the framework of the ReMOBIL project (REGIONAL MOBILITY CENTERS), whose leading partner is the Soča Valley Development Center, a model of regional mobility management is being introduced.
